Embroidered scarf with a circle of hand crochet
There are many theories about the origin of crochet. Some theories believe that Crochet came from the Arabian Peninsula, South America, or China. However, there is no specific archaeological evidence to prove which region Crochet came from.
The time when Crochet was popularized may have been around the 1800s in Europe. Through the understanding of literature, the earliest Crochet may have used fingers without Crochet at all, so that there is no trace left by artificial tools, and it is impossible to study its history. Some writers speculate that crocheting must have a long history based on the pictures woven by these fingers. This argument is also not supported by evidence. Other writers believe that the methods of knitting and weaving are one of the very early weaving methods, but so far, the fabric woven by Crochet has not been found in the archaeological age when the fabric was found
